Teams

At Longton Lane, we have set up an account for all children using Microsoft TEAMs. Even though we will continue to use School Spider to upload daily English and Maths tasks and weekly tasks, this application will allow us to video link with the children, allowing general discussion and to give advice on work set. This application is GDPR compliant and the video link will allow conversations between groups of pupils in their classes and a teacher from school (monitored by the school and authority). We have disabled the chat facility so that children and staff cannot 'chat' one to one in doing so protecting all members.

We have attached a document below (Longton Lane Teams Guide) with full guidance on how to access the application from home using either a laptop/computer or phone/tablet. Usernames and passwords have been created and there is a guide below explaining how to generate username and passwords (Username and Password Information). Please don't forget that when you first log onto TEAMs please add ‘@sthelens.org.uk’ to the end of your username.

These meetings are not compulsory but it would be a lovely opportunity for staff speak to children and children to interact with each other. Children who are already in school will be able to join in via computers in school. Please look at the letter 'TEAMs Information ALL YEAR GROUPS NEW'  ( in documents below) for details about their new weekly session.

There is also an email address specifically for Longton Lane TEAMs questions and support: longtonlaneteams@sthelens.org.uk; there are technicians and teachers available on this address to answer any questions.

Good luck and hopefully we will see you soon!

Stay safe and take care,

Mrs Speed
